Healing Touch Holistic is a well established Holistic Medical center in the down town of Amherst Nova Scotia.Our Headquarters is in Sri Lanka. It is the only Holistic Medical Clinic that offers three different Natural Medical Systems namely, Ayurveda Medicine, Clinical Aromatherapy,Traditional Chinese Medicine & acupuncture in the Cumberland country.
We wish to extend our services in full capacity from year 2023 using the newly finished therapy rooms and we urgently need to fill the following positions in Our n our holistic clinic, Amherst Nova Scotia.
OPPORTUNITIES IN HEALING TOUCH HOLISTIC
1 Position – Ayurveda “Panchakarma” Therapist
This position is for an energetic female or a male who has undergone a full panchromatic training at least with 5 years of hands on experience at a well-known Ayurveda Clinic or a Spa. This position is a contract only for an year and then extendable as decided by the ownership. You will have to produce a valid Police Clarence report with your criminal background check if you pass the first interview.
Nature of the Job:
• Preform oil massages after the correct diagnosis or as decided by the chief practitioner.
• Help the chief practitioner to perform the therapies.
• Maintain the Clinic and the equipment clean and according to the health standards of Canada
• Maintain the appointments, Answer the phone calls, placement Ayurveda Drug Orders from different vendors in India or Sri Lanka using the native languages.
• Administrating the front desk when needed
Qualification:
• High school Certificate
• Must be over18 years and below 55 years of age.
• Must qualified to work in Canada according to the Canadian law and regulations
• Diploma level Training in Ayurveda Panchakarma Therapies and Oil massage.
• BAMS or Bachelor degree in Ayurveda Medicine from a recognized university will be an added qualification.
• Knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Aromatherapy will be an assert.
• Must be able to read and understand the scrips and books written in Sanskrit, Paali, Hindi and Sinhala Languages and prepare the medications and or follow the instructions to heal the patients after a proper diagnosis.
• Must be able to recognize at least 100 commonly used raw herbs and herbal oil formulas in your practice.
• Must be able to listen and converse fluently with your clients and the staff in English language other than the above languages to be used only for the official use.
• Must be a good learner and should be ready to learn the other medical systems practiced in the clinic.
Salary: Minimum wage according to the government of Nova Scotia during your first year. If we decide to extend the contract due to excellent performance there will be a 10% salary increment each year.

2 Position – Ayurveda Clinic Helper
This position is for an energetic female or a male who has undergone a pancakarma training with a PSW training at least with 5 years of hands on experience at a well-known Ayurveda Clinic or a Spa. This position is a contract only for an year and then extendable as decided by the ownership. You will have to produce a valid Police Clarence report with your criminal background check if you pass the first interview.
Nature of the Job:
• Help the chief practitioner and the therapists to perform the therapies.
• Clean the Clinic, bathrooms, massage beds after each use according to the health standards of Canada.
• Helping the Chief practitioner and the staff to transport daily needs of the clinic
• Preparation of Herbal decorations and oil formulas according to the description of the traditional scripts written in the relevant languages.
• Help the chief practitioner or the therapists to find-out the scripts or stanzas describing the ailments and the medications using the library when needed.
• Home deliver the medications to the patients and attending the patients who will be living in the in house department
• Maintain the cleanliness of the in-patient department and cook the food according to the medical cookery standards.
• Helping the chief practitioner and / or the therapists in the occupations of home visits to handle the patients.

Ayurveda is not a regulated therapy or regulated medical system in Canada although it is regulated in some provinces in the USA. However there are a lots of Ayurveda practitioners in Canada and Ayurveda Association of Canada offer them the membership after evaluating the qualifications. The above post is contacted for one year and may be extended based on your performance.
Duties:
The Therapist must be able to perform Ayurveda oil massages and Ayurveda Panchakarma Treatments according to the industrial standards matching the Canadian Health Care System. They must be able to evaluate the patients and decide a the treatment plan individually under the supervising of the chief practitioner. They must have a thorough knowledge on different Ayurveda Herbal oils and their qualities, usages. They must be able to produce and prepare oil formulas or other herbal medical mixtures following the historical books , old scripts written in Sanskrit / Pali or old Sinhalese Languages. They should be able read , write and communicate fluently in English according to the Canadian standards however they are given a chance to improve the English knowledge and write ESOL exam within a reasonable period.
Qualification:
Dr. in Ayurveda Medicine title or Advanced Diploma in Ayurveda Medicine and Panchakarma therapy awarded by a recognised institution or Certificate course with 10 years of hands on Experience in a recognized clinical environment. Must be able to read the Script written in Sanskrit, Pali and or Sinhalese languages. Knowledge and certifications in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture would be an added qualification. Foreign trained Western Medical practitioners with Ayurveda knowledge may be considered if they could perform the duties given above.

Duties:
Help and or assist the Holistic Ayurveda therapist and the Ayurveda Practitioners to treat the patients. Clean the clinic and the clinical environment, preparation of medicines and dispensing according to the Scripts written in Sanskrit, Pali or Sinhalese languages, helping to move the patients, helping them to carry their personal belongings, Collecting some of the available medicines from the plants will be your tasks. It is enough to have a general knowledge of English that would be able to deal with the clients. You would not essentially have contacts with the patients or Clients but always interacts with the therapists and Ayurveda Physicians who would work with you.
Qualification:
